Financial Advisor
Joseph Ceasar graduated from the United States Military Academy @ West Point with a degree in American Politics. While there, one of his classmates mentioned to Joe that he wanted to work for an investment firm after his medical discharge was completed, not knowing that he planted a seed in Joe to learn about investments and how they could be used to create generational wealth for all families.
During his stint with the United States Army, he served as a PATRIOT Missile Battery Executive Officer in Fort Bliss, Texas. Joe was second-in-command of over 195 soldiers in the Headquarters Battery of 5-52 ADA Battalion, 11th ADA Brigade. He led his battalion’s Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Occupation of Position (RSOP) Team making him one of the first in his unit to cross over into Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. One of his greatest accomplishments was to bring all of his soldiers home without losing one. He was honorably discharged in December of 2003.
Staying true to his newly developed passion, Joe began his investment career when he was recruited by Citigroup Smith Barney in 2004 where he served as a Financial Consultant. His career path eventually led him to a 12 year stint at CAZ Investments where he served as the COO and Managing Director of Traditional Investments. Knowing that he wanted to continue his growth trajectory, Joe earned his MBA from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business in 2010. There, he was selected to serve on the Cougar Investment Fund as a Portfolio Manager as he earned a certificate in Financial Services Management. At CAZ Investments, he was promoted from the operations team to serve as a Trader, then a Portfolio Manager, and then ultimately led all traditional investments and two hedge funds. Joe was responsible for the management of over $350MM in assets. After the company divided their Alternative and Traditional Investment portfolios, Joe assisted in the formation of Semita Asset Management where he continued to manage the traditional investment portfolios.
In 2013, Joe met his soon-to-be wife in Hemphill, Texas while preaching. They decided to move to Lufkin, Texas as Joe decided to serve as a preacher in Lufkin, Texas as he continued his service with Semita Asset Management. However, his passion to help the beginning investor was ingrained in his heart and Joe and Allanah started the Legacy Institute for Financial Education (LIFE) in September of 2014. Currently, LIFE has served the Lufkin community in financial literacy, credit building, workforce development, and youth mentorship for over 8 years. He currently serves as LIFE’s Executive Director and leads a successful team that has experienced exponential growth as they have created positive impact in our community. Joe also serves as the Minister of Lufkin’s Lubbock Street church of Christ.
Joe is driven to ensure each client receives the best advice as he subscribes to a long-term outlook of the financial markets. He understands the perspective a Christian should have as a steward of God’s resources. Outside of Scripture, Joe has been influenced by Larry Burkett, Ron Blue, and Dave Ramsey. Joe carries the Certified Kingdom Advisor® designation as a profession of his to provide biblically wise counsel in his role as a financial advisor. He is also known for professing that he has “learned more about money from the Bible than [he] ever has in a classroom.” He and Allanah are passionate about using biblical wisdom to influence others as they seek financial empowerment and generational wealth. Joining the 11 Financial team aligns his personal, professional, and spiritual interests.
